Mullion is a beautiful village with breathtaking scenery. It is a good place for a holiday all year round.
Some wonderful walks can be had around the coast. Mullion Cove with it's harbour built in 1887 is pretty and a walk can be taken from the cove along the cliff top to an area known as Predannack, past the small coves of Sandy Vro and Georges Cove. There are some ponies grazing on the heathland and further along the coast more cattle. For the more adventurous a longer walk will take you to Picturesque Kynance Cove and even on to the Lizard a small village in the area famed for it's serpentine products.
If you walk in the other direction the cliff path takes you to Polurrian Cove (a good beach) and onto to Poldhu Beach. It is on the cliffs above Poldhu that Marconi sent the very first wireless telegraph message across the ocean to St Johns, Newfoundland in Canada in December 1901. There is a monument commemorating this on the cliff path between Polurrian and Poldhu beaches and nearby there is the Marconi centre which is well worth a visit and gives more information on this historic event and it's significance today.
The beach at Poldhu has a car park nearby and a shop which is usually open in the summer. There are also some toilets. There were some toilets at Polurrian beach but I'm not sure if they are still open.
Mullion has several places to stay. There are two hotels and numerous guest houses and self catering places including one guest house formerly known as Belle Vue and now more commonly known as Ridgeback lodge which was built by Local builder Henry George at the turn of the twentieth century. There are several shops including Grocery shops, gift shops and a post office useful for people who are staying in self catering accomodation. For people interested in art there is a gallery in the village known as Mullion Gallery which sells paintings and other works by local Lizard Peninsula artists and also a few cards.
In the Summer the Local cricket team play at their Garro Lane Ground, and in the winter Football matches can be seen at Mullion Football club ground in Clifden Close.
For Families, as well as the beaches and the Marconi centre there is a park with swings etc and in nearby Helston there is a theme park known as Flambards.

We stayed at one of the Holiday Parks in Mullion about 15 years ago.
Mullion is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been to. We went down to the hourbour and there was a caravan park just before a small shop about 20 yds from the harbour.
I don't know what it is called or if it is still there. Can anyone help me please with the name and telephone number so that we can return.
Anyone going to Mullion is in for a treat and will not be disappointed.
(If you know contact goCoastal.co.uk and we will pass details onto Pauline!)

I first discovered Mullion about four years ago I really feel its worth recommending to everyone. The place has a certain geographical magesty that blows me away for different reasons at different time of year.
Last year I made a visit there in my capacity as a photogapher in winter and was rewarded for my close season visit both with amazing photos and a right royal Mullion welcome by all at the cafe and the the treat of my life at the hand made chocolate shop (Iwatched the food of heaven being made) prior to doing early christmas shopping. I have tasted chocolate in belgium and I imagine we've all had a bit of thorntons, but untill you have tried hand made in mullion you are not a chocolate connoisseur!! By far the best I've ever experienced.
