Additional Details
Crab Pot Cottage is situated in the centre of the picturesque village of Flamborough on the East Riding of Yorkshire's Heritage Coast. We aim to provide a varied breakfast with locally sourced produce wherever possible. We have secure off-street parking. All rooms en-suite.
There are an abundance of walks in the East Riding and coastal paths following the dramatic National Heritage coastline north and south as well as inland, taking in the old (1669) and new (1806) lighthouses and fog horn station on Flamborough Head. The headland consists of rugged chalk cliffs full of bays and coves. These rugged chalk outcrops provide the anchors needed for the hundreds of birds to attach their nests.
Nearby Bempton hosts an RSPB reserve where all manner of bird-life may be observed from a Heron Gull to a Puffin depending on the time of the year. There are many wrecks off Flamborough Head which provide great interest for divers. The undulating Yorkshire Wolds provide miles of beautiful walking country. A stay in Flamborough provides an ideal focal point for exploring all that the east coast of Yorkshire has to offer.
Golfing is well provided for with our own Flamborough Head Golf Club situated right on the headland with stunning views of the sea and cliffs. Less than two miles away is Bridlington Links Golf Club and four miles away is Bridlington Golf Club. Again both these clubs provide wonderful coastal vistas. A little further away there is Driffield Golf Club and Hornsea Golf Club.
On the road to Bridlington there is historic Sewerby Hall and Gardens and just beyond Bridlington is Burton Agnes Hall. For the more adventurous sky diving and quad biking is available nearby. Also within easy driving distance are Filey with its Brigg and gracious frontage, Scarborough with its castle and shopping, Whitby with its Abbey and tales of Dracula and North Yorkshire Moors - here you find Heartbeat Country.
