EXCITING CHANGES

Throughout May & June this year the whole of goCoastal.co.uk will change to a brand new layout. This layout will make it far easier for visitors to browse goCoastal and will improve on the way details are displayed.

GOCOASTAL WILL LOOK BETTER

A brand new layout, professionally designed, will replace the current website; the changes to the website will make it look far better as well as make the visiting experiance far better and should result in more enquiries!

This new 'look' will include more details entered by advertisers and allow visitors the ability to filter results more efficiently. The new 'look' also incorporate maps for the first time! These will appear throughout May and will be showing by the end of this month!

Visitors to goCoastal.co.uk will be able to browse by map, using maps only or by holiday destination names! This gives visitors the ability to browse or go direct to destinations.

The upgrade from the current goCoastal.co.uk to the newer 'look' was a decision that I have thought through and worked on for over a year! Don't mend it if it's not broken was something that kept springing to mind. The current website is working and although a 'little messy' it does very well on the search engines which is ultimately the way visitors find it! I have now finally decided to go ahead and re-launch goCoastal.co.uk. I love the way it will look, crisp, clean and professional looking, and I am certain this is good for goCoastal.co.uk and will ultimately make it far busier than ever before, which is scary seeing as its already very busy!!

I have ensured the design of the new goCoastal.co.uk is search engine friendly and that it will not affect goCoastal.co.uk's current standing on all the major search engines. It was this that ultimately held the relaunch up for over a year. But 2007 is the year for it and May will see the site change in a big way, for the better!

IMPROVED MEMBERS AREA

I have totally rebuilt the MEMBERS AREA which will be far easier to use. The accommodation listing process can now be initiated with just one small page of information.

Once the initial entry page has been completed you can add many new details as and when you like including as little or as much detail as you wish!!

Complete the entry process and your finished details page will look amazing: a webpage on it's own!!

MORE DETAILED RESULTS

As part of the upgrade to the layout of goCoastal.co.uk the details displayed will also be revamped! Visitors will be able to filter results by price, occupancy as well as view the complete contents of goCoastal.co.uk by bed & breakfast, self catering or hotel/guest house. Likewise these new details can be added by advertisers using the Member's Area, where a new link will show shortly enabling access to the new database and new details required.

The main details page will also be revamped and will look far clearer and really pushes pictures of accommodation alongside details. So it's very important that all advertisers enqure they upload plenty of nice big images using the image upload facility within the Member's Area.

WEBSITE SERVER UPGRADE

GoCoastal.co.uk is busy. With 20,000 - 40,000 visitors searching for accommodation every week, I was getting grief from my old ISP because the site uses over 40GB of data transfer a month, which is quite a LOT! Because of this I have upgraded to a super fast server for goCoastal.co.uk which has enabled the site to continue to grow.

This server upgrade has made the site more reliable and so much faster and should mean that even more poeple look at your accommodation details! While not cheap I do feel this was a great move for goCoastal.co.uk and will help it reach 2,000,000 visitors next year!

DATABASE UPGRADE

Once the new layout for goCoastal.co.uk is completed I plan to move the complete database to a much faster and more professional MS SQL database. This is not essential, and goCoastal.co.uk is working quite fine on the current database, but the newer faster database will enable goCoastal.co.uk to grow and expand in the coming years!

HOW ENQUIRIES ARRIVE?

I have added a small page detailing how enquiries arrive as this is something that not everyone advertiseing at goCoastal.co.uk understands fully. Much of the traffic generated through goCoastal.co.uk is done so through website links shown within the accommodation details pages. This is where most people will look for more details before enquiring, usually through your own website after clicking on the link here!! If you do not monitor 'referals' you may not even realise the number of enquiries goCoastal.co.uk has actually generated. The special page linked below will better describe how enquiries arrive.

We are geting BIGGER & BETTER this year!

• We have moved to a SUPER FAST server & upgrading to SUPER FAST MS SQL database shortly!
• May will see the relaunch with a brand new professionally designed website!
• Plus we are adding a HUGE Popular Destinations website to goCoastal.co.uk to replace the current system.
• Plus maps covering every destination will be included for visitors ease.
• Plus three new micro websites will help encourage more visitors looking for B&B, Self Catering & Hotel & Guest House accommodation and will advertise accommodation listed at goCoastal.co.uk.
• Plus a new Special Offers & Short Breaks micro website, which will help encourage more visitors looking for Special Offers and Short Breaks at goCoastal.co.uk.
• So we estimate to at least double visitors next year through these changes bringing in well over 2 million visitors.
• To top this off, a new www.goCoastal.EU project will help take gocoastal.co.uk to more European enquirers!
